The architect of self-worth

Hey everyone, welcome back to another post on Radiant Creations in Motion. In today’s post, we’ll talk about something we’ve all heard about, but something we still neglect: Self-worth.

Sometimes, you work really hard for something. You work for hours, sacrifice so much, see others doing the things you want to and still discipline yourself to focus on your work, yet sometimes the outcome doesn’t go your way. This makes you feel awful, hurt.

What we need to remember at this point is, that what lies in our hands is the work we put in, not the results. You can control the situation, and influence the outcome, but not control it.

This is where today’s topic comes into picture. After such an incident, it’s possible that one feels dejected and upset, and that’s ok! But, what matters is getting back up, understanding that maybe things didn’t go your way but you won’t give up. Realising that this may not have worked out, but that you learned something from it. Comprehending that this may or may not be for the better, but that you have the strength to keep going. This strength and confidence is what will keep you going.

Frequently, we search for this strength and confidence outside. We look for appreciation on completing assignments, praise on good projects, words of encouragement from family and friends, admiration for our achievements, recognition for our hard work, because they add floors of confidence to our building of self-worth. Any of these latter events occurring after the former makes you feel better, believe that you can do it, believe that you can try again. But what if they don’t happen?

For this very reason, we must find the light within. We should learn to not associate ourselves with external opinions. We should remember that others may not see what we see, they may not hear what we hear, they may not feel what we feel, and that’s ok. Setbacks are a part of life, and although we may feel upset, what matters is believing in yourself and believing that you can do it whether or not others say it. What matters is trusting yourself to handle the situations to the best of your ability. The light you were looking for outside, is within you.

You are the architect of your building of self-worth. You decide who gets to make it or break it, and the strongest, wisest, most trustworthy builder of all, is you.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know what you thought about it in the comments.

Have a great day ahead!
